PROUD OF OUR HISTORY
In Monferrato we hold on tight to tradition and winegrowing: we remember where we come from, because that is the only way to know where we are going.
THE GUAZZI FAMILY
The Guazzi are a family that has always been tied to the village of Olivola, to Casale Monferrato and to the Monferrato area in general. Stefano Guazzo, a jurist and man of letters, was the first owner of the estate. He built our house in the latter half of the 16th century: Villa del Bel Riposo.
The Candiani Counts
Over the centuries, the village of Olivola became the property of the Candiani Counts. Camillo Candiani, a diplomat and admiral of the Royal Fleet, lived here. His name is still with us: the original coat of arms of the villa and the noble motto are found in the Bricco dei Guazzi brand.
EXCELLENCE IN WINEGROWING
Bricco dei Guazzi has a centuries-old history that dates back to the 16th century. It is a history of two Italian noble families, the Guazzo and the Candiani: men of culture and valor, striving for excellence. A history of wine. Because over the centuries winemaking has always been fundamental for the livelihood of the local people and for trade. An estate with an unbroken tradition: confirmation of the strong winemaking vocation of our “bric.”
